burma allows al jazeera reporters...

The dictatorial Burmese "government" ("government" here being defined as overpaid, over-the-hill, over-decorated maniacs who currently control Burma) allowed Arab news agency Al Jazeera to report from inside of Burma. This is remarkably rare, as Burma is completely closed to real journalists. The junta probably thought that since Al Jazeera is Arabic, and therefore anti-American (I dont personally know that they are, and I dont really care, since in my world everyone is anti-America), although the report didnt exactly hit the spot for the junta. Read the report on the Irawaddy.
